Over the course of the Jewish holiday season, the Hebron Fund is organizing a myriad of events designed at raising awareness and bringing much needed tourism to the ancient biblical city.

In a commemorative evening of inspirational prayer, the Hebron Fund has brought together both Chief Rabbis of Israel as well as many other spiritual leaders, together with the parents of the three slain teensNaftali Frenkel, Gilad Shaar, and Eyal Yifrach.

The bodies of the boys, who were kidnapped in Judea by Hamas terrorists on June 12, were found north of Hebron in a field three weeks later. The commemorative event is being held to honor their memories, as well as in attempt to unite the Jewish People in prayer during the time of the high holidays, with Rabbis from all over the country participating as well as Members of Knesset and other public figures set to attend.

Rabbi Dan Rosenstein, executive director of the Hebron Fund, told Breaking Israel News, “The prayer meeting which will take place at the Cave of the Patriarchs is one of the most special programs we run. This special location is thought to be where the entrance to the Garden of Eden is, and those who contribute have a special privilege of bringing all of us that much closer to God’s Presence.”

Rosenstein said that in order to help those who are unable to physically be at the location feel more a part of the event, the Hebron Fund will send a link to a live video feed of the event to all of their donors so that they can have a stronger sense of “being there”.

The live stream can be accessed via the Hebron Fund site, and will be streamed at 2:30 pm EST or 9:30 pm Israel time. The organizers are also giving the option for anyone from around the world to submit the names of loved ones who are in need of prayer to be included in the prayers of one of the rabbis or dignitaries at the event.

“Being there,” according to Rosenstein, “is something that can be very spiritually moving. The residents that are living in Hebron are by their very presence keeping the entire city accessible to Jews and people of all faiths. If one is not able to physically able to live there themselves then you can partner with them by becoming an honorary citizen. Your support will enable the Hebron Fund to provide for the needs of the community as well as accommodate the hundreds of thousands of visitors to the city and allow them to connect to God in the second holiest site in Israel.”

The next event on the calendar for the community of Hebron is a large festival over the Feast of Tabernacles in two weeks time.
