Has the “Auto-fada” Begun?

Hamas and other terror groups have found a new way of turning an every day item into a weapon. After three terror attacks in two weeks in which a vehicle was used as a weapon, Palestinian terror groups have launched a social media campaign encouraging others to carry out similar attacks.

On the websites of Hamas and Fatah, the political party run by Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas, cartoons, photos, caricatures and instructions are popping up, telling people how to carry out terror attacks using their cars.

On Wednesday, a Hamas affiliated terrorist from East Jerusalem ran into a group of pedestrians in Jerusalem waiting to board the Light Rail. One person, a Druze Border Patrol officer, was killed and 13 others injured.

Later in the evening, a second terror attack occurred in Judea when three IDF soldiers were plowed down by a Palestinian driver on Route 60.

The two attacks were inspired by one that occurred two weeks ago in which a terrorist drove full speed into a group of people near a Light Rail station in Jerusalem. Two people, including a three-month-old baby, were killed and several others wounded.

Arabs with an Israeli IDF are allowed to have a license and own a vehicle in Israel. They are able to drive anywhere in the country. Palestinian Authority licenses and vehicles are only allowed to be driven in Judea and Samaria.

While Jerusalemites are on edge and have called on the government to return calm to the capital, many are left wondering if the “autofada” has begun.
