The Shin Bet security service and Jerusalem District Police cleared for publication late Monday that a massive terror cell, composed of dozens of members, was busted.

The cell members have been implicated in a series of terror attacks against Israel, concentrated in the capital of Jerusalem.

The terrorists are Arab residents of Jerusalem and operated out of the East Jerusalem neighborhood of A-Tur. They all carried Israeli ID cards.

Mostly men in their teens and early 20s, the cell is responsible for various Molotov cocktail and stone throwing attacks against police and Jewish civilians in East Jerusalem.

According to the Shin Bet, one such terror incident carried out by the cell was throwing a pipe bomb at a police vehicle.

Marwan Jeyousi, a 20-year-old member of Fatah, was named as the ringleaders of the cell. Jeyousi began recruiting other terrorists to his cell in July 2014, following the kidnapping and murder of 16-year-old Mohammed Abu Khdeir.

Arrested by Israel in August, Jeyousi was replaced by 23-year-old Abd al-Mughrabi, aged 23. Mughrabi intensified the number of attacks and level of violence carried out against Israeli targets.

Under his command, the terror cell began to produce homemade explosives to be used in attacks.
