Israeli Security Experts in High Demand Across Europe

Following a sharp rise in terror-related incidents in Europe, local schools, businesses and religious institutions are turning to Israeli expertise to meet their growing security needs, Reuters reported.

Europe is experiencing an increase in extremist activity, such as the recent attacks on Paris satire magazine Charlie Hebdo and Kosher supermarket HyperCacher. Just last week, three French soldiers were stabbed while guarding a Jewish community center in the city.

“Today the world is less innocent, people start to understand the threats and the dangers, and start to demand security,” Robby Said, general manager of Israel Special Forces, a security firm, told the news agency. The company, which deploys trained security personnel to half a dozen countries worldwide, has seen a surge in demand recently.

Said’s employees have combat training and have served in undercover and elite army units. Their training and experience allows them to quickly detect and assess threats, acting decisively and effectively.

Israel is no stranger to urban terror, but the threat is relatively new to Europe.

“The first thought that I had is that if someone that is well trained, like an Israeli guy, or a personal security guard was there (in France), it would have been over very fast,” said Ron Elmaliach, chief security instructor and CEO of security firm Tactical Zone.

His firm ran a training exercise which simulated an attack on a client under guard. Experts predict such incidents will only increase in the near future.

Security demand has grown by some 30 percent since the January attacks in Paris.
