However, as Christians, we do want to support the Biblical mandates concerning Israel regardless of the individual or party that supports them. This means we believe the Biblical prophets who declared that the God of Israel made a covenant with Israel’s fathers that the land of Israel would encompass all from the Jordan River to the Mediterranean Sea.

This is the territory God Himself designated and for which He established the boundaries as a homeland for the Jewish people for “an everlasting possession.” In other words, the boundaries of the land God promised to Abraham and his descendants are spelled out in the Books of Genesis, Exodus, Chronicles and others.

The Lord made a covenant with Abram to give to him and to his descendants all the land from the river of Egypt (some say this refers to the Nile) to the great river Euphrates. On the map, these boundaries God established would roughly include the land of modern-day Israel (including Gaza and the West Bank), Lebanon, Syria, Jordan, Iraq, Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, UAE, Yemen, most of Turkey and more to include all the land east of the Nile river.

Some have different interpretations. I’ll leave that to the Biblical scholars to sort out. My point is that the land of Israel, as deeded by the Almighty, is much larger than the land Israel currently possesses. Prime Minister Netanyahu has boldly and consistently refused to hand over half of the God-given land of the small and lone Jewish state to the Palestinian Arabs so they can form a separate state on Israel’s tiny bit of real estate.

In so doing, he has effectively resisted great pressure from the United States government, the United Nations, the European Union and others in addition to receiving a great deal of pressure even from the leftist liberal parties of his own country. Media reports that a senior member of US President Barack Obama’s 2012 campaign staff is currently working to influence the upcoming Israeli election with emphasis on efforts to defeat and oust Prime Minister Netanyahu from office. Such reports are very concerning and extremely disappointing.

One television analyst when sharing this news reminded viewers that early on in his presidency, Barak Obama stated that the United States government should never try to influence election results in any foreign country. Israel’s prime minister seems to be the only sane leader in the world who is accurately measuring the pulse of Islamic radicals and terrorists and we are throwing him under the bus.

On top of hearing the staggering news that a former Obama staff member is working to try to oust Netanyahu, US Secretary of State John Kerry proclaims that the US government “no longer has any desire to support Netanyahu.” Seems Israel has our back while the White House is busy stabling theirs.

Should Prime Minister Netanyahu retain his position as the leader of Israel it would also mean that the Israeli government would not be handing over more “land for peace” or land for a separate terrorist Palestinian state. Israel would be maintaining possession of that special land promised by God to the Jewish people for “an everlasting possession.”

So, regardless of the actions and attitudes of the current US administration, Israel, you are not alone. God plus Israel equals the majority! Israel is God’s chosen land and the people are His chosen people. What He is able to create

He is able to preserve and protect that no weapon formed against them should prosper. Israel may struggle but Israel will prevail. The same is not true for those who come against “the apple of God’s eye.”
