At least eleven were injured Monday afternoon in Jerusalem when a terrorist rammed his car into a bus stop near the city’s iconic Chords Bridge. At least two people are in moderate condition, and the rest in light condition.

The ramming took place on Herzl Boulevard, and the attacker was shot and killed. According to a police statement, “A member of the security forces, a security guard and an armed civilian who saw the attack take place quickly and accurately shot the attacker before he was able to get out of his car and approach the civilians.”

The attacker was an Israeli-Arab resident of East Jerusalem.

An axe was found in the back of the car. Police suspect that the terrorist intended to leave the car after the ramming and use the axe to attack more people, as was the case in several recent ramming and stabbing incidents.

The car also struck a water pipe, which burst, sending a geyser of water into the air.

Six of the wounded were taken to Jerusalem’s Shaare Zedek Medical Center for treatment, including a 65-year-old woman and an 18-month-old baby in moderate condition, and five others were taken to Hadassah Ein Kerem.
