On Tuesday, two separate attempted stabbing attacks by Palestinian teenage girls were averted and the assailants apprehended. No injuries were reported.

A 16-year-old Palestinian girl attempted to stab Border Police security guards at the Damascus Gate in Jerusalem’s Old City on Tuesday morning. The Damascus Gate was the site of a fatal shooting and stabbing terror attack on Wednesday which left a 19-year-old Border Policewoman, Hadar Cohen, dead, and another female cop critically injured.

Police requested to search the 16-year-old’s backpack, upon which she pulled out a knife and tried to stab the policemen. The officers reacted quickly, subduing the suspect and taking her in for questioning.

Also on Tuesday morning, a 13-year-old girl with a knife was detained outside of Carmei Tzur, a Jewish community north of Hebron in the Judean hills. She was arrested by a security guard at the entrance to the settlement.

One day earlier on Monday, an 11-year-old boy was stabbed in his home in Ramle by a 17-year-old Israeli Arab, who initially fled the scene but was later apprehended. The victim was moderately wounded. Police are investigating the attack to determine whether or not it is terror-related.

Also on Monday, another stabbing attack attempt was prevented at the Damascus Gate when a 42-year-old Israeli Arab woman was found to be carrying a knife. The suspect, a resident of the Old City, was arrested by security forces and taken in for questioning.
