A unique trip to uncover the mysteries and horrors of the Holocaust will take place this summer, intended for both Christians and Jews, and sponsored by Breaking Israel News (BIN). Led by BIN publisher Rabbi Tuly Weisz and Rabbi David Abrahamovitz, the Tour of Remembrance: A Unique Holocaust Educational Trip is being billed as four days participants will “never forget”.

“This is an extraordinary opportunity for Christians and Jews to unite in deepening their understanding of the atrocities of the Holocaust and awakening our desires to assure that such things will never happen again, no matter what nationality is at stake,” noted Rabbi Weisz to Breaking Israel News.

The tour includes some of the Holocaust’s most notorious sites. Explanations, stories and prayers will take place at the Warsaw Ghetto, Korczak’s Orphanage, Treblinka Extermination Camp, the tragic Children’s Forest, Birkenau, Auschwitz, the pharmacy of a righteous gentile who aided the Jews of the Krakow Ghetto and a visit to Oskar Schindler’s factory.

Rabbi Abrahamovitz runs “The World That Was” Poland Tours, whose tagline is “Rejoicing for what was; commemorating what is no longer.”

“All four of my grandparents were Holocaust survivors,” reflected Rabbi Abrahamovitz to Breaking Israel News. “Part of the tour’s purpose is to educate through first-hand experiences the dangers of anti-Semitism.”

The excursion is arranged to not only mourn what was lost and those who perished during the war, but also to increase faith by visiting places of martyrdom and sacrifice. Included are sites where righteous gentiles demonstrated extreme courage and self-sacrifice in the face of the horrors of the Holocaust.

“During the tour, one experiences the meticulous efforts that the Nazis made for the success of the ‘Final Solution’,” said Rabbi Abrahamovitz. “Visiting these historic places not only helps us to comprehend what was lost but deepens our appreciation that we are living the fulfillment of ancient prophecies through the revival of the Land of Israel and the survival of the Jewish people.”

One of Rabbi Abrahamovitz’s references is to Amos 9:14-15, which reads, “I will bring back my exiled people Israel; they will rebuild the ruined cities and live in them. They will plant vineyards and drink their wine; they will make gardens and eat their fruit. I will plant Israel in their own land, never again to be uprooted from the land I have given them.”

This summer’s “Tour of Remembrance” marks 71 years since the Nazi concentration camps were liberated. “My family lost many of its members during the Holocaust,” noted Rabbi Weisz to Breaking Israel News. “I am participating in this journey as a way to honor their memory along with the other six million who were murdered. Though this is a particularly personal pilgrimage, we pray that those who join us will be inspired to contemplate the past and inspired to make a better future.”

With Rabbi Abrahamovitz’s knowledge of the Bible, Jewish history and intensive studies in Polish Jewry and the Holocaust and Rabbi Weisz’s desire to educate the masses to see the modern world through Biblical eyes, this tour of Poland promises to be filled with meaning and passion.
