Entitled “Are We Still Alone: In a Time of Crisis, will there be Christians Standing with Israel?,” Rabbi Shlomo Riskin of Ohr Torah Stone  institutions in Israel and New York Times best-selling author, Joel Rosenberg, will discuss the challenges and the future of Christian support for Israel and the Jewish people. Taking place at Lincoln Square Synagogue in Manhattan, the event will be live-streamed at 7:30pm (EST) and moderated by David Nekrutman; the Executive Director for the Center for Jewish-Christian Understanding and Cooperation (CJCUC) in Israel.

The basis for the event was sparked by the character exchange in Joel Rosenberg’s recent non-fiction novel, The Auschwitz Escape, in where Pastor Jean-Luc Leclerc says to Jacob Weisz – “Why are you, a Christian, here in a death camp, condemned for trying to save Jews? The real question is – why aren’t all Christians here?” According to Nekrutman, the question is still relevant today in where Israel is isolated on the global stage and certain Christian denominations are part of or very supportive of the BDS (Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions) movement against Israel. He added, “With almost 2,000 years of Replacement Theology within the Church, a Christian supporting Israel and the Jewish people today is a miracle as well as a Divine calling.  Tonight’s event will shed light on the origins of Christian Zionism, the present challenges it faces and the future of the movement.”
