Police Use Extra-Marital Affair to Extort Testimony Against Netnayahu

The Israeli police seem to be taking no prisoners (or too many) in their dogged pursuit of prosecuting Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. But this time they may have reached a new low.

That’s because Netanyahu’s former associate, Nir Hefetz, was not only threatened with “his life being turned upside down” by taking all of his assets, the investigators also threatened to publicize an extra-marital affair that Hefetz was having with his mistress reports Amit Segal of Channel 12.

Hefetz was the prime minister’s spokesman and is now a state witness in the “Case 4000” whereby Netanyahu is suspected of lobbying for regulations that financially benefit the main shareholder of the Bezeq telecommunications group, in return for positive press exposure.

While threatening to take his assets, the investigator can be heard also warning to harm his family saying: “I’m not joking with you, Nir, and I am not messing with you,” the interrogator yelled. “Do you recall what I told you in our conversation? These are things that might not only affect you.”

As of now, the police have placed a media gag order on Hefetz’s interrogation. All of the goings on behind the scene regarding Hefetz’s interrogation are being leaked via Segal to social media channels.

Last week, Breaking Israel News reported that two of Netanyahu’s top advisers had their cellular phones confiscated by the police for allegedly harassing a state witness (Hefetz), even though Hefetz’s lawyer told reporters that he didn’t file a complaint.
