In 2018, Netanyahu Threatened to Blow Up a Missile Site in Beirut’s Port

In an address to the the general debate of the 73rd Session of the General Assembly of the UN in 2018, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu warned that the location of Tuesday’s massive explosion in Beirut was in the vicinity of the “secret sites” where Hezbollah converted “inaccurate projectiles” into “precision guided missiles that can target deep inside Israel.”

Hinting at a potential imminent attack, Netanyahu cautioned Lebanese civilians of being used as “human shields.” The Israeli premier then revealed the location of the sites, with the first one being in the area where Tuesday’s earth-shattering blast took place.

Netanyahu sent Hezbollah a dire warning of a potential preemptive strike saying: “Israel knows. Israel also knows what you’re doing, Israel knows where you’re doing it. And Israel will not let you get away with it!”
