Iranian Soldiers Fighting “In the Field” Alongside Palestinian Terrorists

The Islamic Republic of Iran confirmed that some of its soldiers were operating “in the field” alongside Palestinian terror groups in Gaza, Judea and Samaria.

Speaking to a group of senior military officers in Tehran on Saturday, Major General Gholan Ali Rashid, Iran’s Deputy Chief of Staff, said that Iran provides extensive support to its proxies throughout the Middle Eastern region.

“Some of our commanders are in the field to give military advice to the Iraqi army, Lebanon’s Hezbollah and the Palestinian resistance movement,” he was quoted as saying by the Fars News agency.

Iran, one of the world’s largest sponsors of international terrorism, provides widespread support in the form of money and weapons to Hamas and Islamic Jihad in the Gaza Strip and the more powerful Hezbollah in Lebanon, all with the aim of supporting the destruction of the State of Israel.

In Iraq and Syria, Iran trains and funds special-forces to fight alongside Shia Islamist militants belonging to groups such as the Abbas Brigades, Iraqi Hezbollah and the Asaib Ahl al-Haq, a notoriously brutal organization.

For Palestinian terrorists, the Islamic Republic has sponsored special terror training camps in Iran and Syria. Iran has invested considerable effort to prop up the Hamas government in Gaza and increase the presence of Islamic Jihad, Hamas’s rival but a second major regional supporter of Iran.

The chief of staff’s comments come after Iran’s paramilitary force, the Basij, announced that it was actively arming terrorists in Judea and Samaria. A senior Iranian military official also claimed that majority of the weapons used by Hamas over the recent 50-day conflict were made in Iran.
