Alan Dershowitz will be speaking on “Israel, ISIS and the War Against Terrorism” this Sunday night at New York University. American Friends of Dental Volunteers for Israel is hosting Professor Dershowitz to raise funds for the Trudi Birger Children’s Dental Clinic, the only free children’s dental clinic in Jerusalem.

Professor Dershowitz, has recently given an interview explaining how Israel’s strategy against Hamas should be used as a blueprint for the US to combat ISIS. He also recently authored a book entitled ‘Terror Tunnels: The Case for Israel’s Just War Against Hamas’ in which Dershowitz shows why Israel’s struggle against Hamas is a fight not only to protect its own citizens, but for all democracies. He argues that the nation-state of the Jewish people is providing a model for all who are threatened by terrorist groups—such as ISIS, al-Qaeda and Boko Haram.

Professor Alan Dershowitz hails from Brooklyn, NY, has been called “America’s most peripatetic civil liberties lawyer” and one of its “most distinguished defenders of individual rights”. He has also been known to be an outspoken supporter of Israel defending the Jewish state in the battle for public opinion. He has also published more than 1000 articles in magazines, newspapers, journals and blogs and is the author of 30 fiction and non-fiction works with a worldwide audience, including The New York Times #1 bestseller Chutzpah and five other national bestsellers. He is the Felix Frankfurter Professor of Law at Harvard Law School.

American Friends of Dental Volunteers for Israel is committed to advancing oral health care for the neediest children and at-risk youth of Jerusalem. The free clinic in Jerusalem provides quality dental health care regardless of a child’s race, religion or a family’s ability to pay. The non-profit organization was founded upon and maintains the philosophy that no child should suffer disability due to dental disease.

The lecture, will take place on Sunday, November 16, at 5:00 PM, beginning with a reception followed by the lecture and a ‘Q and A’ session with Dershowitz. The event will be held at the Septodont Lecture Hall, 1st Floor, NYU College of Dentistry, 345 E. 24th Street (on the corner of 1st Avenue) New York, NY.
