According to the popular Hollywood magazine, Variety, hit TV show Breaking Bad star, Aaron Paul has joined the cast of director Ridley Scott’s planned film about Moses, ‘Exodus’, Israel Hayom reports. Fox Studios has already signed up Christian Bale, the star of the most recent Batman reboot, to play Moses as well three-time Academy Awards nominee Sigourney Weaver and John Turturro.

According to Variety magazine, Paul is still in negotiations while Weaver and Turturro’s deals are closed. Ridley Scott is directing the epic drama.

Variety reported that Paul will play the role of Joshua, who goes on to lead the Jewish people into the Promised Land after Moses dies. Weaver and Turturro will portray the parents of the Pharaoh Ramses, who will be played by Joel Edgerton.

Scott has been reportedly working on the film for several years, as excitement and anticipation grows among Hollywood circles.

Scott is not the only Tinseltown bigwig looking to capitalize on the story of perhaps the Jewish people’s most important leader. According to Screenrant.com, Warner Bros. studio is looking to hire director Ang Lee for Gods and Kings, another Moses-centric film.

The plan, according to Variety, is for a September start date, with production traveling to England, Spain and Morocco.
