Violence continued over the Sabbath in Israel in two separate stabbing attacks that left three policemen and two elderly men wounded. Along the Gaza border, Palestinian rioters increased their violent assault.

Saturday morning, two Israeli men, aged 62 and 65, were attacked by a 16-year-old Palestinian armed with a knife on Hanevi’im Street near the Old City of Jerusalem. The terrorist was shot and killed at the scene by the police. The victims were treated at the scene and evacuated to Shaarei Tzedek Hospital.

In a later incident, three Israeli police officers were wounded in an attack Saturday afternoon when a Palestinian man approached two policemen near the Damascus gate. When the officers confronted the man, asking him to identify himself, he pulled out a knife and attacked the officers, wounding both. A third officer was struck by friendly fire.

The two stabbing victims were taken to Hadassah Ein Kerem Hospital where they are listed in moderate condition. The third officer was taken to Shaarei Tzedek Hospital where he is in serious condition. Immediately following the attack, Palestinians swarmed the scene of the attack, rioting and throwing rocks at police. Security officials responded with crowd-control measures.

Violent riots were reported in many locations across Judea and Samaria. Riots continued on the Israeli border with Gaza near the city of Khan Younis. Two Palestinian teens, aged 13 and 15, were killed by IDF fire and 23 were wounded. Riots also continued near Rafah and the Kerem Shalom crossing. At least 10 Palestinians broke through the border fence.

A Palestinian was wounded by Israeli police shooting a .22 caliber Ruger sniper rifle, as per recently upgraded rules of engagement issued by the Security Cabinet.

It has also been reported by Channel 2 that an attempt to infiltrate Kibbutz Kissufim near the border with Gaza was thwarted on Saturday.

Additional Iron Dome batteries were deployed in Beer Sheva and Ofakim as a result fears of escalating violence could lead to rocket attacks.

On Sunday, hundreds of reserve IDF Border Police will be receive draft notices to report to active duty.
