At the event, which was organized by a far-left Jewish fringe group, Zoabi said that she “shares the struggle” of the Jewish victims of Kristallnacht, which is recognized as a significant turning point leading up to the Holocaust. During Kristallnacht, which took place in November of 1938, hundreds of Jewish shops, homes and buildings were looted and destroyed by pro-Nazi forces, and deadly attacks took place against Jews throughout Germany and Austria.

Zoabi accused Israel of “ethnic cleansing” based on Nazism and said that Israel had created “more than 80 laws” discriminating against Palestinians and Arabs, who she claimed live under conditions similar to those of 1938 German Jewry. “Eighty-five percent of my people were expelled, in an ethnic cleansing and colonialist plan,” she said of the state’s creation in 1948.

She also spoke about the current tense situation in Israel, claiming that the calls of Israeli politicians for civilians to carry weapons in order to fend off the almost-daily terror attacks all over Israel “justify the use of violence towards Palestinians”.

The event took place in Amsterdam’s Jewish quarter and was attended by about 200 supporters, many of whom were Jewish. At least half a dozen pro-Israel protesters were removed by security when they yelled out in protest of the speakers at the event, several others of whom made similar remarks comparing the Holocaust to Israel’s treatment of its Arabs citizens.

One elderly man shouted out in Dutch, “This is a Jewish monument,” in protest of Zoabi’s speech, but was immediately surrounded and removed by security guards.

Zoabi, who is notorious for denying the legitimacy of the Jewish state and has even called for jihad against Israel, has also compared Israel to ISIS is currently under investigation in Israel for incitement to violence.
