Israel Behind the Lens is a special series highlighting some of Israel’s top photographers. Below, photographer Noam Chen shares his most memorable photos captured in Israel in 2015 and the story behind them.

I came across the Rabbi and the Priest at the Old City of Jerusalem as they were sitting together and chatting. For me it portrays the beauty of co-existence in the Holy city, and it was lovely to see how (some) people can live side by side, in spite being of different religions or faiths.

These are my favorite shots from the winter scene of 2015. It’s my favorite time of year, and the white coat makes both Jerusalem and the Golan Heights here seem as serene as ever.

This stunning field of buttercups is located just a stone’s throw from the Negev desert, and it only goes to show that the Israeli landscape is more diverse than what people normally think.

Great part of my photography consists of sites in Israel that are historically important and holy to both Jews and Christians. These two are my favorite shots representing this category.

I chose these two as an example to the love and show of support for Israel by international superstars, that kept on coming in 2015, and are unstoppable by all sorts of fashionable BDS movements.
