The IAF struck four targets in Gaza Friday night in response to a rocket attack into Israel. Four rockets landed in open fields near the city of Sderot in Southern Israel at around 10:30 pm Friday night. No casualties or damage was reported.

The Israeli Air Force responded with air strikes that targeted four Hamas training camps. A ten-year-old Palestinian boy was killed and his six-year-old sister was injured by shrapnel from the bomb blast. Their home was adjacent to a Hamas training camp. There have been no Palestinian casualties from Israeli airstrikes since last October.

“In response to the aggression, the Israel Air Force targeted four Hamas sites in the northern Gaza Strip,” an IDF statement said.

“There have been seven rockets fired at Israel from the Gaza Strip since the beginning of the year.”

No organization claimed responsibility for the rocket attack but Israel holds Hamas responsible for all attacks, as it is runs the government in Gaza.

Ezzedine al-Qassam Brigades, the military wing of Hamas, issued a statement vowing, “The blood of the children killed in the Zionist raid will not flow in vain”.
