The newest Islamist incitement propaganda video shocking the world carries a gruesome yet simple message: IDF soldiers are cold-blooded killers and Arabs must avenge the innocent lives lost at their hands in the only way possible – terror.
The clip, released by Islamic Jihad, is short – only 1 minute and 34 seconds – but it gets its brutal point across. Featuring high production values, a dark, dramatic soundtrack, and a clear narrative, the video is intended to showcase the brutality of the IDF and inspire an equally violent response.
For those unlikely to commit actual acts of terror against Israel and are watching out of curiosity, the video – named “Blood Readiness” – serves as a crystal-clear justification for Palestinian and Arab violence.
The video opens at an Israeli checkpoint, where a soldier, in an approximation of the khaki IDF uniform and carrying a semiautomatic weapon, stops an Arab family waiting to drive through. The soldier demands that a young man, sitting in the back of the car with his mother and frightened sister, get out.
As soon as he exits, the IDF soldier slams him against the car, and a second soldier runs up. Both point their weapons at the young man, who backs away, hands in the air. Calmly and at point-blank range, the soldiers fire, killing him.
His blood seeps into the ground, where, deep below the surface, a masked militant is digging a tunnel. He stops to rest – and then feels a drop of blood. Somehow, he knows it is Arab blood, and, infuriated, he returns to work with renewed speed, digging as fast as he can.
The tunnel, of course, is a terror tunnel – part of the underground network which Hamas is diligently carving out beneath Israel. The tunnels, which reach from the Gaza Strip under the border, enable the terror organization to smuggle weapons into Gaza, infiltrate Jewish communities, kill Israelis, and kidnap IDF soldiers, whose bodies they use to negotiate for the release of terrorists.
No one can miss the moral of this story. Even if no Arabs are inspired by this video to take up a knife or gun against a Jew, it provides one more tool for the arsenals of every anti-Israel individual and activist watching: terror tunnels, difficult to defend in the best of times, are a justified and natural response to the senseless cruelty of the IDF and the “occupation”.
The video is a not-so-subtle reference to a recent incident in which an IDF soldier allegedly shot a terrorist after he was neutralized. Thousands have protested the subsequent arrest and trial of the soldier, arguing there is no comparison between shooting an enemy combatant and committing murder. However, the case has become fodder for anti-Israel voices, which have often accused the Jewish state of “extrajudicial killings” of terrorists.
