Israel Defense Force (IDF) soldiers and border police arrested 21 Palestinians across the West Bank overnight Tuesday and into the early morning hours, including 10 suspects in the same town, The Times of Israel reported. Weapons and other military equipment were recovered during the raids.

Givati infantry brigade, as well as special forces units, participated in the raid in Kufr al-Dik, east of Tel Aviv, uncovering three homemade guns, hunting rifles, body armor and military uniforms. Ten men were arrested for taking part in violent demonstrations, throwing rocks and other forms of “popular terrorism,” as the IDF refers to such behavior.

During the arrest of two suspects in Abu Dis, west of Jerusalem, residents hurled rocks and pieces of wood at soldiers, none of whom were hurt in the process. The charges against the two men were not disclosed.

Three suspected members of terror group Hamas were also detained, two in the Nablus area and a third in Turmus Ayya, north of Ramallah. Additional arrests took place in Beit Fajjar, Silwad and the Palestinian village of Tekoa.

This was the largest operation of its kind in recent weeks, and the greatest number of arrests in one night since April 5. It took place at a point when the wave of violence, which began in the fall, appears to be winding down.
