A joint operation of the Shin Bet (Israel Security Agency) and IDF special operations forces on Sunday night apprehended the members of the suspected terror network responsible for the murder of Rabbi Michael Mark last month.

“The IDF conducted a large scale operation overnight in the village of Dura, which sheltered the terrorist who committed a deadly attack on Route 60,” stated the IDF Spokesperson’s Unit.

The IDF soldiers assisted by Shin Bet intelligence arrested ten Palestinians suspected in aiding and abetting 29-year-old terrorist Mohammed Jabarah al-Faqih.

Al-Faqih shot and murdered Rabbi Michael Mark and injured his family members in a drive-by attack on July 1. Al-Faqih himself was found and terminated by the IDF last week after he barricaded himself in a house in the village of Surif and shot at the IDF force.

Weapons found in the house in Surif during last week’s raid as well as confessions by Al-Faqih’s family members reportedly led the Shin Bet and the IDF to this second wave of arrests.

According to the IDF Spokesperson’s Unit, an unspecified number of suspected arms dealers and manufacturers who allegedly provided arms to Al-Faqih and his associates were also apprehended in Dura.

Meanwhile in Nablus, IDF special operations forces arrested Mahayub Borhan Rashad Knaza, whom they described as “one of the senior arms dealers and manufacturers” in the Palestinian Authority (PA).

Knaza is an officer in the Palestinian Security Services, making him the second PA official involved to some extent in the Michael Mark murder, along with Al-Faqih’s driver who was also a member of the PA.
