Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu spoke to US President Donald Trump  Sunday evening (Sunday afternoon ET). Sources close to the Prime Minister said the  call was a “very warm conversation” and said the two leaders would meet in Washington next month.

In a statement, Netanyahu said he looks forward to working with the new administration “to  forge a common vision to advance peace and security in the region, with both countries marching in step.”

During their conversation the two leaders discussed a broad range of regional issues, including the nuclear deal with Iran, the peace process with the Palestinians, and “other issues.”

Netanyahu, Jerusalem Mayor Nir Barkat and other Israeli politicians have called on Trump to carry through on his campaign promise to move the American embassy from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem, and administration officials said they have started the process to make that happen. However, they also said the process was in its infancy and warned Israeli leader that preparations for the move would take time.
