From Former Mayor of Shiloh, A Three-Step Plan for Christians Standing With Israel

David Rubin, the former mayor of the Biblical city of Shiloh in Samaria, terrorism expert and founder of Shiloh Israel Children’s Fund, recently traveled throughout the US to educate Americans, mostly Christians, about the precarious situation in Israel, America, and for that matter, the world. Focusing on the exponential growth of anti-Semitism and anti-Israel sentiment, he put out a call to action for the lovers of the Holy Land and the Jewish people.

“The purpose for my extensive lecture circuit is twofold,” explained Rubin to Breaking Israel News. “Firstly, I share accurate information about Israel and the world, which is sorely lacking from the media presenting ‘fake news’. Secondly, I try to encourage people to mobilize for the sake of Israel. We need all the partners we can get.”

Rubin is a well-seasoned speaker who regularly travels to North America and Europe to lecture. He is frequently asked to be a guest commentator on national and international radio and television programs for his unique insights into present-day politics as understood through the eyes of a Bible scholar and citizen of the Biblical heartland in the city of Shiloh, where the Tabernacle of Israel stood for 369 years in the time of Joshua, Hannah, and Samuel the Prophet.

Clearly passionate about the message he hopes people will hear, Rubin openly states that the Judeo-Christian values on which most western countries were founded are facing the threat of extinction through the rise of Islamic extremism and left-wing propaganda.

“People and organizations are working day and night to destroy the values we hold so dear through our Bible teachings,” he said. “Now is the time to let the Godly voice of truth be heard.”

On his recent tour, Rubin spoke at ten churches and parlor meetings, including two Hispanic churches where an interpreter translated his talk into Spanish. He also made various media appearances during this stint. “We welcome support from everyone,” reflected Rubin to Breaking Israel News. “However, the fact is that Christians have a certain heart awareness about standing with Israel. Unfortunately, this is becoming less so in the US as it is drifting away from its Biblical roots.”

Part of Rubin’s message is based on Genesis 12:3, a Bible verse which informs much of Christian support for Israel.

I will bless those who bless you, and the one who curses you I will curse. And in you all the families of the earth will be blessed. Genesis 12:3

“God decreed that all blessings come through Israel,” continued Rubin. “When Presidents Carter, Bush, and Obama turned on Israel, the US economy crashed. Russia, which is such a large country filled with energy rich resources, never thrived when it persecuted its Jews. But, when the US allowed freedom of religion and stood by Israel, it prospered.”

Rubin is clear that now is a critical time for Israel’s future and the complete fulfillment of Ezekiel 36. He feels that Christians in particular, must make their voices heard and step into action, especially those who say that they pray for the Holy Land.

“Now is not a time for slogans,” he stated. “Those who believe that the Bible is God’s word understand that Israel and the Jewish people are meant to be a light unto the nations. I find that a lot of Christians, in particular, care tremendously about Israel. They pray for her peace every day. Prayer is important but we need to go beyond that. It’s not enough to say you love Israel. We have to do something. These times demand action.”

Noting the recent UN resolutions disconnecting Jerusalem from the Jewish people, the tireless calls for a two-state solution, and the incessant secular and left-wing anti-Israel rhetoric, Rubin emphasizes that any friend of Israel must take action to stand with the country. He has a three-step plan for Israel advocates.

1. Pray actively for Israel and its people
2. Become a political activist on behalf of Israel and with regards to the relationship between your country and the Holy Land
3. Partner directly with those striving to rebuild the Biblical heartland which makes one a partner in the fulfillment of Ezekiel’s prophecies

The towns will be inhabited and the ruins rebuilt. I will increase the number of people and animals living on you, and they will be fruitful and become numerous. I will settle people on you as in the past and will make you prosper more than before. Then you will know that I am the Lord….No longer will I make you hear the taunts of the nations, and no longer will you suffer the scorn of the peoples or cause your nation to fall, declares the Sovereign Lord. Ezekiel 36:10-15.

“Today, the young population in Judea and Samaria is flourishing and, along with Jerusalem, has the highest birthrate in the world,” noted Rubin. “Yet, so many of these children have experienced terrorism and adversity simply for being Jews living in the Holy Land. I believe that there is no better way to strengthen Israel’s children and the future of the county than by supporting the work of the Shiloh Israel Children’s Fund which is dedicated to healing the trauma of children who have been victims of terrorist attacks, as well as rebuilding the Biblical heartland of Israel. People must take concrete steps to stand with Israel today.”
