The Friends of Zion Museum presented US President Donald Trump with the Friends of Zion Award at the White House on Monday for his uncompromising support of Israel, epitomized by his recent historic recognition of Jerusalem as Israel’s eternal capital.

“This award was commissioned by the 9th president of the state of Israel, Shimon Peres, to recognize a global leader with courage to stand with the nation of Israel and the Jewish people,” explained Dr. Mike Evans, founder of the Friends of Zion Museum.

“We believe no American president in history has done more to defend the Jewish people in the United Nations,” Evans said of Trump.

Tony Perkins, president of the Family Research Council, who attended the event, praised President Trump for his exceptional integrity in acknowledging Jerusalem as Israel’s eternal capital.

“This president is an anomaly. He is an anomaly because he keeps his promises. Evangelicals, conservatives across this country are grateful for the fact that he has actually done exactly what he campaigned on,” Perkins said.

Past recipients include President George W. Bush, Prince of Monaco Albert II, and Bulgarian President Rosen Plevneliev.

The Friends of Zion Museum, located in Jerusalem, is dedicated to commemorating non-Jews who have helped Israel over the past 200 years, such as US President Harry Truman, British Prime Minister Winston Churchill. The museum also has exhibits commemorating the Righteous Among the Nations, gentiles who saved Jews from the Holocaust, such as Oscar Schindler and Raul Wallenberg.
