Over the past week, violent protests have swept the southern Iraqi city of Basra. Twelve people have been killed in the protests and hundreds injured.
Israel’s border with it northern neighbor Lebanon, is considered its quietest and most peaceful one. However, what lies beyond is arguably Israel’s greatest threat – namely, Iran’s terrorist proxy, Hezbollah. The IDF is constantly monitoring the group and improving its own defensive capabilities. This includes the fortification of a large border wall.
Israel has announced that within a few years it will have a remote firing missile system that could precisely hit targets anywhere in the entire region. Intended to counter Hezbollah’s vast arsenal of mid to long range rockets, at least one military analyst thinks Israel’s new missiles are a significant game-changer.
