Following the drive-by shooting – and murder – of two IDF soldiers Thursday, the IDF heightened its activity in the West Bank. It launched a massive man-hunt to capture the murderer, who turned himself in Friday. Israel’s Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said that Israel would accelerate efforts to destroy terrorists’ homes in response.
As scenes of tear gas being used against angry foreigners hurling rocks and storming the fence on the U.S.’s southern border appear in the media, they are a stark reminder of similar images depicting the conflict on Israel’s southern border. A Palestinian terrorist ran over three IDF soldiers in Gush Etzion just south of Jerusalem. Two soldiers were lightly wounded and the third was taken to the Ein Kerem Hospital in moderate condition.
