The Palestinians are the only group of 20th century refugees who continue their lives as a non-productive, dependent population in UNRWA’s refugee camps.
In an interview with VOI’s Ernie Singer, Jerusalem-based Center for Near-East Policy Research head David Bedein says “From Time Immemorial” author Joan Peters — who died Jan. 6th — showed that the UN Relief and Works Agency (UNRWA) perpetuated the refugee status of Arabs who were displaced, or left voluntarily, in the wake of Israel’s 1948 Independence War.
